Smartphones Impact on the World [Infographic]

Given the points made last week I thought I’d share some smartphone facts and attach and infographic How Smartphones Impact on the World below.

A few key points:

1. 25% of U.S. Households have “cut the cord” and no longer use wireless telephone service.  My family only use ours for alarm monitoring these days.
2. 80% of the world’s population now has a phone and they are increasingly smartphones. Every year the percentage keeps on increasing.
3. Smartphones will be the primary PC for a great percentage of the developing world for some time.

The Bottom Line: Having a website that is mobile friendly is a bigger deal that ever. Increasingly it is the primary form of communication for many people in the developed world and in the developing world it IS the ONLY form of communication for most people.
